Mercedes Benz ML 350 CDI slated to launch on 15th May

Union Budget 2012 hurricane hit the auto majors badly; some even deferred the launch of their vehicles as the excise duty was raised by 2%. All new Mercedes Benz ML350 CDI, exemplifies this fact as the German automaker reworked its plan and delayed the launch of the car to May. Now as per the word on street, ML 350 CDI was supposed which to launch in the month of April is now going to drive in on 15th May.
The SUV was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo, also the test mule of the SUV was caught on lenses numerous times going through test runs near Pune. ML 350 is going to powered by a 3L V6 diesel engine mated with 7-speed manual transmission that churns out 230 BHP peak power and a torque figure of 540 Nm. The propelling capacity of the car from 0-100 is 7.4 seconds and the top speed is marked at 224 kmph. If the demand surges, the company is going to amplify the SUV’s portfolio.
Mercedes Benz might add the smaller 2.2L diesel engine to ML350, which is one of the most frugal engines available in the market. Even after the excise duty hike, the ML350 CDI will drive in through CBU route only, the German manufacturer might start producing the car locally at their Chakan plant by the end of the year. At present, the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class models are assembled at the Chakan facility on the outskirts of Maharashtra.
