New Toyota Camry Specifications Revealed

We have constantly been keeping you updated on the new 2012 version of the Toyota Camry which will launch on 24^th August. On that front, the latest is that all specifications and details for the Camry have been released. The price however will be confirmed later but is expected to be in the same range that is somewhere close to Rs. 23-24 Lakh.

The prevailing versions were Completely Built-Units and the latest fully loaded trim is a CKU, which might mean a slight cut in prices but the market conditions, inflations, rates etc. seem to be saying otherwise. What exactly will happen, for that we’ll have to wait for a little while more. The new Camry will be a 16 Valve DOHC, 2494cc engine in comparison to the prevailing 2362cc models. The loaded Camry will be capable of delivering a power output of 178bhp at 6000revs as compared to the current version which churns out a power of 164bhp at 6000rpm. The torque generated will be 233Nm at 4100rpm. Following the global trend India would be getting the Petrol version only for now. There are no comments whatsoever about a diesel mill.

The exteriors of the 2012 Toyota Camry have been enhanced to give the sedan more premium and luxurious looks. Enhancing the looks is the new styled Chrome radiator grille, Automatic HID headlamps, 10 spoke 16inch alloy wheels, chrome door handles and rear garnish along with the body colored ORVM with electric adjust and retract and the freshly designed larger and elongated taillights, which is combination lamp with LED brake lights.

The cabin as well has been enhanced with a Touchscreen DVD Display Audio with AM/FM, Bluetooth connectivity, in-built Mic & Amplifier, chrome door handles even from the inside, leather trimmings and real stitching at the dashboard, day/night inside rear view mirror etc. Enhancing the cabin are the 8-way power adjust driver and passenger seat, wooden finish at the door trims, 4-spoke leather, silver and wooden finish steering wheel, leather and wood finish gear knob. The comfort and convenience features will be galore as well with dual-zone automatic climate control, rear AC vents, rain sensing wipers etc.

Talking about the Safety features, the New Toyota Camry will have ABS with EBD and BA braking system (Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake force Distribution and Braking Assist) resulting to extremely controlled driving. Further, there will be an impact sensing fuel-cut off system, immobilizer plus alarm, clearance and back sonar with illustration display, ensuring that the ride is not just comfortable but safe and secure as well.

Well, Toyota is sure bringing in a catch, we’ll soon know, whether a catch worth it or not… Hopeful!
