Nissan targets 40,000 car sales per year by 2012

Nissan has been in the Indian Auto Market since 2005 and has managed to grab a decent share in the Indian car market so far with its hatchback car Nissan Micra. Now, Nissan India is aiming pretty high and aspires to triple up their cars sales to 40,000 by the end of 2012. And in order to touch this mark, upcoming car Nissan Sunny will help boost sales.

Nissan Sunny sedan was unveiled in India on this Wednesday and is expected to be launched during the festive season. Besides a sales target, Nissan India is currently also planning to export car parts worth around $100 million abroad to its international manufacturing plants. Furthermore, Nissan also desires to double up the production capacity of its manufacturing plant located in Chennai. Nissan India wants to touch the mark of 400,000 units per annum at the Chennai plant of Nissan. Currently Nissan has Nissan Micra hatchback, Nissan Teana premium sedan, Nissan X-Trail SUV, and Nissan 370Z sports car offerings in India. Nissan Sunny will be the new addition to the fleet of Nissan cars in India.

As per reports the MD of Nissan India, Mr. Kiminobu Tokuyama has expressed that in this financial year, Nissan India is all geared up and confident enough to triple its sales and reach the mark of 40,000. And Nissan Sunny will surely do its part. The unveiling of Nissan Sunny has already been done and the launch in India is the slated for this festive season that is around the month of October 2011. Also, Nissan India is planning to grow its dealership from 40 dealerships to 100 by 2012.

As per the reports, Nissan India sales in the month of July 2011 rose up by 59% to about 1,593 vehicles and it managed to sell around 13,000 cars in the last financial year, which ended in the month of March. Recently, even Ford Motors told that it is planning to invest $900 million in its new production plant in India. And with this investment, this American car manufacturer is climbing the ladder of success pretty quickly. Ford and Nissan are not the only foreign car makers in India today. Other prominent and famous foreign car manufactures, which are receiving raving responses from the Indian Auto Market, include Mercedes, Audi, BMW, General Motors, Hyundai, Toyota and many more.
