The latter half of 2012 would see a new car Scala from Renault which will be the ‘Renault's version of Nissan Sunny’. This re-badged sedan would follow the mechanics of the Sunny, including the 1.5-liter 97.6BHP motor; however there is no clarity on the subject of Renault offering the 1.5 petrol version at launch.

The Renault has hopes from Scala that it would fillip the sales and the brand name just the same way Sunny did for Nissan. Previously Renault rolled out the hatchback Pulse, which was built on the same platform as that of Nissan Micra. The Renault Pulse is in fact just the re-badged version of Micra and it comes only with a diesel variant. Like the Pulse, the Renault Scala is too expected to be vamped up cosmetically in order to render it the Renault identity.

The changes are going to be minor ones constraining to the bumper and the grille; the whole attempt is just to separate the car from the Japanese sibling, Nissan Sunny. The Renault Scala is anticipated to be priced a bit higher than the Nissan Sunny in order to keep with the brand positioning within the Renault-Nissan Alliance.
