Skoda Superb Ambition softly launched, official launch scheduled for tomorrow

Skoda India has finally made a move on the cut-price variant ‘Ambition’ of its flagship sedan Superb. The company has softly launched Ambition at exciting Rs. 1.65 lakh than the top-end Elegance variant of Superb sedan; the car has reached the dealers. However, the official launch for the Indian car market is going to happen tomorrow on 18th April in Mumbai. Since Ambition is a cut price variant the car is expected to miss on a lot of enticing features like the Bi-xenon cornering headlamps, front parking sensors, touch-screen central console with 6-CD changer unit, electric sunroof and hill hold and hill descent system. The headlamps would be the usual projector one; the audio unit would have a single CD changer instead of six.

The Superb Ambition has lost way too much on the price tag as well which comes as good news for all Skoda fans. The petrol version (1.8 L TSI) of Ambition, mated to a manual gearbox is priced at Rs. 18.55 lakh whereas the diesel (2.0L TDI) version, mated to an automatic transmission system is priced at Rs. 23.19 lakh. The total number of models in the Superb series has climbed to six from initial four. The price for Skoda Superb’s other variants are: Rs. 20.20 lakh for Elegance petrol with manual transmission, Rs. 21.75 lakh for Elegance petrol with automatic transmission, Rs. 24.74 for Elegance diesel automatic with 2.0L TDI engine and Rs. 28.74 lakh for Elegance diesel automatic diesel with 3.6L V6 engine. All prices indicated are ex-showroom Mumbai.
