Skoda India had recently discontinued its Fabia and now the Czech Republic manufacturer will launch the new Octavia in October. The Octavia will replace the Laura brand, to carry on the same badge as the international moniker.
Skoda India will also introduce the new logo on the Octavia and this will also be seen on the other Skoda products like the Rapid. The current version of the Skoda Laura will soon be discontinued as the new Octavia that will be launched.
The new Skoda Octavia will get the 2.0-litre diesel engine and the 1.8-litre petrol mill. Skoda could even use the 1.4-litre petrol turbo mill that powers its distant cousin the Volkswagen Jetta.
This Octavia is based to VW’s new MQB platform and soon all the products of VW will share the same platform too. This will also include the new Audi A3 as well.
Skoda will also introduce the facelift version of its flagship model, the Superb. The Superb will a major revamp on the inside, however outside it will get some minor subtle upgrades in cosmetics. The Yeti facelift is likely to come next year.
