Tata Motors has, eventually, put an end to all the speculations floating around by unveiling the Tata Bolt aka Tata Falcon 4 hatchback. It would be going on sale by mid 2014.
Bolt hatchback is based on Tata Vista's X1 platform and is facelifted heavily; appears almost like a totally new car. The exterior lights are more traditional this time around with win shaped design. It comes with the new signature Tata grille with the Humanity line.
As far as interiors are concerned, Tata Motors has indulged several top-grade features in the vehicle such as all new, next generation, HARMAN infotainment system, State-of-the-art 5-inch touchscreen to access music and video, and first-in-class HVAC with touch screen controls.
Additionally, features like Advanced Bluetooth, Voice Recognition, Text to speech and phone navigation are like icing on the cake.
The Bolt is powered by the segment first, Turbocharged Intercooled Multi point Fuel injected (MPFI) based Revotron 1.2T petrol engine. It is compiled up of cast black iron and churns out 83bhp at 5000 rpm and 140Nm of torque between 1750-3500rpm.
This highly efficient, refined and performance oriented engine is coupled to a F-tronic automated manual gearbox (AMT) which is first of its type. Furthermore, Bolt features speed sensitive power steering which is also first-in-segment.
