Tata launches new campaign to promote safety aspect of Nano

The largest vehicle manufacturer of the country, Tata Motors has decided to promote the safety aspect of its most popular car Tata Nano through an all new advertising campaign in the Indian market. The move has been taken in a bid to save the image of this small wonder in its domestic market that has been engendered by the recent incidents of Nano catching fire. The company said in a statement on Tuesday that it has built the Nano model in which safety is part of standard equipment and it comes equipped with safety features like monocoque chassis and crumple zones.
The new safety advertisement appeared in a national daily on Thursday. The new campaign that promotes the safety of the car assumes its significance as there has been about six incidents of Nano catching fire across the country. The latest among these incidents took place on 27th of August, almost three months after the car had been declared absolutely safe by the company by concluding its investigations on previous incidents of fire in Nano model.
Meanwhile, the company is all set to start the booking process for Tata Nano model in the Indian market. Although, it had been reported earlier that the company will sell the car of the shelves by the October 2010, there is no conformation from the company & side in this regard till now. The new model of Tata Nano is expected to be costlier by 3 to 4 (Rs 3,700 to Rs 6,894) than the existing model of the same. However, the first one lakh units of the Tata Nano have been declared price protected by the company and there will be no price hike applicable on these cars. So far, the company has sold as many as 50,000 units of this car in the Indian market and will deliver another 50,000 units by the end of this year.
