Toyota aiming to grow more then 25% in 2010

Toyota Motors, Japan based world's largest car maker is targeting to achieve a growth of more then 25 percent in India in year 2010. The company is aiming to sell more then 70,000 units of its vehicles in the country as compare to 55,497 units sold in year 2009.

Company's Deputy Managing Director (Marketing), Sandeep Singh told to PTI,This year, we are looking at a minimum of 70,000 units. TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motors) is aiming to sell 47,000-48,000 units of its best selling crossover in India, Toyota Innova. While at the same time company is targeting to sell 10,000-odd Fortuner and 12,000 Corolla Altis in current year.

Besides this the Toyota is all set to launch its small car model Toyota Etios in the country by this year end. The Etios model will be launched in a hatchback version first and after analysing the response of Indian customers, the sedan version will follow. Hatchback version of Toyota Etios will compete with popular hatchback models in India including Maruti Swift, Maruti Ritz, Hyundai i20 and Fiat Punto. On the other hand the Sedan version will compete with model like Maruti Swift Dzire. Toyota is also planning to launch a diesel version of its only sedan model in India, Toyota Corolla Altis.

The company has a plant at Bidadi in Bangalore outskirts which has around 3000 employees. In addition to this the company also coming with a manufacturing plant near its first plant to manufacture Toyota Etios model.
