Toyota conceded car defects reveal in lawsuits

As per the court documents that have been filed in the spreading litigation against Toyota Motor Corporation, the auto maker took back the cars from those drivers who told about the sudden acceleration defects. But Toyota did not disclose those defects to the federal regulators. The lawyers of the claimants stated that the Japanese automaker forced the car owners to sign certain confidential agreements. These confidential agreements were meant to prevent the owners from uttering  publicly regarding the problems that they faced with the product. According to the documents filed in the court of US, certain cases which date back to the year  2006, say that the technicians of Toyota itself felt that the cars speed up  even when the gas pedal was not pressed. Plaintiffs' attorney Steve Berman commented that the more they dug into the facts surrounding Toyota, the clearer it became that the company was aware of the problem and it did not act with responsibility. He further added that it was even worse to know that the company prevented the owners from speaking about the issue in public. 

The spokesman of Toyota, Mike Michels has denied these allegations and has said that the technicians of the company were unable to duplicate the sudden acceleration that was claimed by drivers in two examples. He further added that the technicians as well as the engineers of Toyota have completely checked those vehicles and they have also driven those cars for a long distance but they could not duplicate the acceleration concerns of the customers. They also did not find any problem in those cars. Michels also commented that the test drive of those products is going on and they are running safely.

When Toyota has started recalling thousands of its products, numerous lawsuits were filed against the company. These cases claimed the issue of sudden acceleration and that of the brake glitches in the Toyota Prius hybrid. Toyota Motor Corporation has ordered the return of over ten million vehicles during the past year from all over the world. On the other hand, the federal officials have stated that they have got around three thousand complaints for the problem of sudden acceleration.
