2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class SUV revealed at NY Auto Show

Mercedes Benz unveiled its new SUV, called 2013 Mercedes Benz GL Class at the New York Auto Show 2012. The SUV was showcased with great pomp and show. 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class is based on M-Class platform and has a very boxy look along with some great styling done all around. The exteriors of the SUV are world class and the large rear spoiler with smooth lines along the body gives the car a much bold and robust look. The LED headlamps add more charm to the looks of the SUV. The 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class has increased an inch in length and has become a bit wider and taller than its previous version. This seven seater SUV provides the passengers ample of legroom, elbow room and headroom. On the inside, there are some advanced features in the new 2013 Mercedes Benz GL Class.

The fresh and remarkable 4.5 inches of color display is impressive, whereas the SUV also features Crosswind Stabilization, Collision Prevention Assist and self-leveling air suspension.  The parktronic along with active parking assist, surround view camera, panoramic roof are some other highlights of the SUV. Apparently, Mercedes Benz will offer 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class in three variants and all three variants will come with 4Matic all wheel drive system and the engine will be coupled with impressive 7 speed automatic gearbox. The base variant of 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class called GL350 Bluetec will sport 3.0 litre of V6 turbo diesel engine churning out 240 Ps of peak power along with 616 Nm of maximum torque.  The car will have a remarkable 0 to 100 kmph of acceleration in merely 8.3 seconds. The mid range variant will be called GL450 and will be fitted with 4.7 litre of V8 twin-turbo charged direct injection petrol engine producing 362 PS of peak power with 550 Nm of maximum torque.

This variant would have 0-100kmph of acceleration in just 6.2 seconds. The last one, which is the top end variant of 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class known as GL550 will sport a more enhanced version of the same engine and would churn out 429 PS of power with 699 Nm of torque. The acceleration of this variant would be in 5.5 seconds. The exact launch date hasn’t been decided so far, but hopefully, 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class will be launched in USA in September 2012 and it could hit the Indian roads by the end of this year. The pricing details of the car have been kept under the hood right now but will be revealed very soon. 2013 Mercedes Benz GL-Class's younger cousin, Mercedes Benz M Class will be assembled in the country in late 2012.
