Audi Q3 sneaked in Mumbai

The compact SUV Audi Q3 has been caught in lenses once again undergoing the test rounds in Mumbai. The German luxury brand hopes the Audi Q3 to be a volume puller and is expected to challenge the upcoming BMW X1 in the luxury sector. Audi India has the launch of its Audi Q3 slated towards the end of 2012. The Audi Q3 price in India is likely to be around Rs 25 lakhs.

The SUV is said to be built on the same platform as that of VW Group A5, VW Golf Mk5 and VW Tiguan SUV. The Q3 SUV will be initially launched with a front-wheel drive mode, but a “Quattro” variant with four-wheel drive option is also on the cards. The Audi Q3 specifications reveal a 2.0 L TDI diesel engine producing a peak power of 140 Bhp under the hood. Audi India is currently focusing on increasing its dealer network in the country.

The company intends to recruit 600 new employees for its Aurangabad manufacturing facility. The company, which has seen a 95% growth in the Jan-August period of this year, is aggressively focused on attaining the number one position in the luxury sector by 2015. The luxury brand foresees reaching its target by employing the talented workforce to excel in all departments- production, dealerships and at the corporate level as well.
