General Motors appoints new product development head

General Motors, the US based auto mobile manufacturers is all set to once again turn the fortune wheel in its favour. In the wake of growing further and ofcourse for the better, the US auto company has appointed an all new product development head.
It was being reported that GM has declared it is in the making of extremely vital changes in the firm by planning to shift Tom Stephens from the product development and will be replaced with Mary Barra, engineer who was earlier heading the human relation department. However, Mr Stephens will still be the vice Charmian and will take over in the new department of global chief technology officer.
As per the media reports it is disclosed that Barra is associated with GM from 1980. She is a graduate with BS degree in electrical engineering. Since 1980 she earned herself a position as co-op student from General Motors Institute (Kettering University). In the year 1988, Ms Barra was awarded a fellowship to Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated with masters degree in Business Administration in 1990.
The reports mentioned a statement from Dan Akerson, the Chairman and CEO at GM who said that Marry is a refreshing change in the department of developing vehicles which will delight international buyers. He also said that Ms Marry's experience in staff operations, production and engineering together with ability to mate and build strong partnerships will enhance the auto company's potential to deliver the automobiles to today's buyers.
