We break down the pros, cons, and reasons to buy (or skip) the Alcazar Signature
The three-row mid-size SUV segment is becoming increasingly popular in India. The latest to join the fray is Hyundai with the Creta-based Alcazar, a premium, feature-heavy offering. The Alcazar gets two engine options: 1.5-litre diesel and 2.0-litre petrol. These can be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic.
Depending on the variant, you can have the Alcazar as either a six or a seven-seater (the former has captain seats in the middle row). Here, we have a detailed analysis of the top-spec Signature variant to help you decide if you should buy it:

Why Buy The Signature Variant?
This is the variant with all the bells and whistles that Hyundai has to offer with the 6-seater Alcazar. We suggest stepping up from Platinum to the Signature if you want the automatic variant, considering the price hike is nominal. Features over the Platinum include ventilated front seats and front parking sensors. Also, you get the dual-tone colour options only with the Signature, at a premium of Rs 15,000.

Why You Might Avoid The Signature Variant?
Seeking real VFM? Then go for the Platinum variant. There are practical considerations here. First, the Signature is limited to the six-seater configuration only (with the captain seats and fixed central console in the middle row). Also, this variant is only available at select Hyundai dealerships (that also retail the Elantra and Tucson), unlike the Alcazar’s other variants. And finally, the Rs 48,000 premium for the manual variants over the Platinum is hard to justify.

Well-loaded entry variant, and your only choice for a seven-seater with the diesel-automatic combine. |

Big jump in price, but packs almost all the wow features except the ventilated seats. Sensible too, thanks to being available as both six and seven-seaters. |
|
Yes, the ventilated-seat variant! Step up to Signature if going for a Platinum automatic. |
