Fully covered and revealing almost nothing, the Hyundai Creta has been spotted in Brazil. The Creta, known as the ix25 in China, has been spotted in the South American country at a time when it is widely reported that a local assembly plant will be operational there by the end of this year.
The compact SUV has already achieved enormous success in the Indian market, resulting in the South Korean carmaker increasing its production. It recently recorded 1 lakh bookings for the same.
The Creta comes with three engine options in India, viz. 1.6-litre petrol, 1.4 and 1.6-litre diesel mill. The petrol produces 121bhp of power and 151Nm of torque. On the other hand, the 1.4-litre diesel churns out 89 horses with 220Nm torque, and the 1.6-litre diesel has power and torque figures of 126bhp and 260Nm respectively. You can compare these figures with the Creta’s closest rival, the Renault Duster, whose 1.5-litre diesel engine gives 110bhp of power and 240Nm of torque. These figures enable Renault’s offering to do a 0–100kmph sprint in 11.8 seconds. It is highly probable that the testing mule in Brazil has been exported from India. So, do not expect it to be much different from the one present here.
It is to be noted that the Sao Paulo Motor Show will be held from November 10–20, 2016, in Brazil. So, the appearance of the Creta (or the ix25) in the country is a strong indicator of Hyundai’s preparation for the same.
