The winners of the Ypres Rally (the most remote IRC event this season) and the current IRC leaders Freddy Loix & Fréderic Miclott are going to drive for Skoda Motorsport (factory team) at Rally Bohemia. Taking place in the surroundings of Mladá Boleslav, the upcoming event will not see Skoda Motorsport's Kopecký & Starý this time due to an injury Starý suffered in the shakedown before the Ypres Rally in Belgium last week. Skoda is the General Partner of the event.
This “home” rally is another opportunity for the Skoda Motorsport team to appear in the Czech Republic. Head of the team Michal Hrabánek comments: “We take our participation in Bohemia for granted. We are sorry that Kopecký & Starý cannot take part due to the co-driver's injury. On the other hand, I am sure that the appearance by the current IRC leader Freddy Loix will make this rally highly attractive and will be a good reason for fans to come to this event.”
Freddy Loix is going to make his debut at Rally Bohemia: “I have heard that the profile of Rally Bohemia is similar to that of the Barum Rally and that it is a great but difficult rally, - I am looking forward to it, it's a new challenge for me. I am sorry for Jan & Petr, we could have made a strong team together. Anyway, we are going to do our best, and although my unfamiliarity with the track will be bit of a disadvantage for me, I and Fréderic want to fight for the top ranks”.
Rally Bohemia takes place in the surroundings of Mladá Boleslav over the first weekend of July. The programme includes 15 stages (193 competition kilometres in total).
