Jeep to Focus on Fiat Based SUV

The Jeep Liberty which is more popularly known as the Cherokee in the international markets is seeing the end of its current generation. Based on a report coming in, the Chrysler Group will be stopping the manufacture of the current generation of the model at the Toledo North Assembly Plant, next Thursday which is 16th of August.
This is being done to make way for the new SUV that is based on a joint platform that is being developed by Chrysler and Fiat. The new Jeep SUV is being expected on the platform which is sourced from the Alfa Romeo Giulietta. It is being said that Chrysler will invest nearly USD 1.7 Billion and add more worked to be able to add a 2nd shift at the Toledo.
