Mahindra obliging unsuccessful draw participants by accepting bookings

The power-packed SUV, XUV 500 from the Indian auto maker Mahindra was greeted exceptionally well by the Indian customers and people also went to extreme ends to own a Mahindra XUV 500. This car, from the makers of powerful Scorpio, is facing a huge demand resulting in a huge waiting list. It has been speculated that the company has started accepting bookings for this car secretly as an attempt to oblige the unsuccessful draw participants. Mahindra has also promised these applicants a delivery in the next lot. In order to fulfill the king-size demand and reduce the waiting list of XUV 500, the company is working as hard as it can and has also increased the monthly production of this car from 2000 units to 3000 units.

This move of increase the production of XUV500 has been taken by the company at a time when the excitement of the car is ebbing and the prospective customers are being left jaded because of whopping waiting list. Under the hood, powering the Mahindra XUV500 is a 2179cc, mhawk diesel engine that is capable of pumping out a peak power of 140 BHP at 3750 RPM and a peak torque of 330 NM at 1600 RPM; the engine is coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox. The SUVs expected to contest against the Mahindra XUV500 are Ford EcoSport, Renault Duster and Tata Safari Storme.
