Nissan to bring in cheap brand in budding markets like India, Brazil And Russia

Nissan Motor Co. is apparently planning to launch cheap vehicles that would be tailored specially for the promising and budding car markets under its Datsun brand by the year 2014. This plan of bringing in cheaper brand of automobiles will certainly ramp up the efforts to tap into the most emerging markets of the world, which includes Brazil, India and Russia. These vehicles will be priced as affordable as $6200 or 500000 yen. It will be primarily built and sold in countries like India, Russia and Indonesia. Nissan, Japan’s 2nd largest car maker is aiming to sell about 3 lakh Datsun’s per year. When enquired from the officials of Nissan, Nissan Motors Corporation decided to be tight lipped.

Nissan has been trying to push itself swiftly into the thriving and flourishing markets, which also include the alliance with Ashok Leyland Ltd in India. Recently, it has also established a factory in Brazil, where it aims to fetch a great chunk of market share by the year 2016. This big move by Nissan will certainly reboot other auto industry brands, which were sadly discontinued in 1970s and 1980s like Toyota 86 and Dodge Dart that will be re-launched in the month of April this year. On the other hand, the other Japanese car manufactures have been developing models for these budding car markets, but Nissan will be the first one to bring in cheaper range of automobiles in these markets.

Also, Datsun will also make car models tailor made to the particular needs of each market. The shares of Nissan Motor Co. were increased by 0.9% at 835 yen today, in tune with the wider market. In India, Nissan has already established itself with its hatchback car Nissan Micra and newly introduced sedan, Nissan Sunny.
