Toyota Fortuner & Innova facelifts caught undisguised

Toyota’s Innova and Fortuner facelifts are once again caught under the lenses. The models were caught totally undisguised at Bangalore, which once again tell us that the makeover is more along the exteriors. Unlike the longer waiting period of 3 months and over, the consmers will see a sooner delivery this time. The auto major has ramped up the production of the car to shorten the delivery time.  Toyota’s only SUV Fortuner on the other hand is likely to be introduced in additional variants. By what the rumours say, the new Toyota Fortuner could be introduced in a 4x2 variant apart from the possibility of an automatic variant.

The premium Toyota Fortuner SUV is offered in a 4x4 variant with a powerful 3.0 L 163 PS diesel engine mated with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The SUV as of now is offered in a single all-diesel variant selling at around Rs 20 lakhs. However, as mentioned right from the beginning, the SUV will not see any changes in the 3.0 L diesel powertrain. It is more towards sprucing up the looks of the SUV and more options in the variants is what expected of Toyota’s best-selling SUV.

On the other hand, the images clearly show the changes along the redesigned grille and headlamp design in the new Toyota Innova. The rear end however, is restricted to minimal changes. Toyota India has already announced a hike in the prices of Toyota Fortuner by Rs 50,000 effective from January 1st,2012. So, we will have to wait and see what the auto major has in store in terms of the price of the new Toyota Innova and 2012 Toyota Fortuner. Both the Toyota cars will be introduced at the 2012 Auto Expo.
