Mahindra Bolero (Next-Gen, Code Name: U301) that have been spotted testing several times, is yet again snapped and this time the pictures reveal its interiors. The newly developed insides look premium and well sorted, at least for a Bolero. Though, dashboard is well-covered with veils, the rectangular A/C vents along with the central console are sneaking out. Also, the infotainment unit looks quite similar to that of New-Gen Scorpio.
There are other premium touches like round air-conditioning controls, chrome finished instrument cluster rings (similar to XUV 500). A newly developed 3 spoke steering wheel with a wide bifurcation to the middle spoke is marking its presence. While explicit use of faux wood-aluminium inserts and an ivory finished gear lever is evident from the shots.
Now, there is another uncommon fact about this Next-Gen Bolero is that the introduction of an AMT setup. The neat and short stick, as clear from the picture, indicate the presence of an Automated Manual Transmission in this variant.
Unlike what was expected, this new compact SUV will be made on the conventional ladder-frame construction, conducive of a monocoque one. It is believed that Mahindra is keeping the monocoque approach for the other two projects, codenamed S101 and S102.
On the price perspective, the mini Bolero is going to be around INR 6-8 lacs and we expect its launch, or at least reveal, by the end of 2015. Other than AMT, the car would also get a 5-speed manual transmission.
