Mahindra India to launch SMC in 18 months

Mahindra and Mahindra, India's leading Auto major is interested to launch premium cars in Indian domestic market. For the same the Indian auto company is in talk with Korean auto manufacture, SsangYong Motor Company. The company is mulling over to launch SsangYong premium cars in India by upcoming 12 to 18 months and presently it is in study to prepare strong base for these cars.

As per Anand Mahindra, the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Mahindra Group the company is trying to prepare the market for the new product for a long term association in the Indian car market. The Indian Auto major from Mahindra Group owns 70 per cent of shares in South Korea's SsangYong Motors with an investment of Rs 2,105 crore. Mahindra will establish itself more strongly in India as soon as the cars will land on the domestic auto shores.

Mahindra reported that SMC motors has 80 per cent market share in the Korean auto market and these cars are very popular there. So the company hopes that SMC cars will get good response in India. These cars are having impressive body design and appearance, latest technology, superb engine and innovative features along with reliability which capable to attract the customer.

Mahindra Group wants to become a solid strength in Indian auto market and has entered in the used car business through its another firm Mahindra First Choice. It sold 28000 pre owned cars during the year 2010-2010. In this business the company is getting good response from Chennai and selling over 5500 cars per month and now planing to sell over 10000 units of by this year. The company has recently been opened Mahindra First Choice 2S SuperStore in Chennai by Mahindra Group VC and MD, Mr. Anand Mahindra. To grab the Indian auto market the company is spreading its wings across country. Presently the company has 134 dealership outlets in 82 towns and is planing spread to 300 outlets by 2014.

Meanwhile it recently launched a special edition of its most popular MUV Mahindra Bolero after cross the sales mark of 1000 units. The new special edition of Bolero is equipped new features, spec and elegant appearance same as Mahindra Xylo celebration edition and comes with enhanced Rs. 80,000 more price than base model.
