Maruti Suzuki’s compact sedan all new Swift Dzire is sitting on the drivers seat running Maruti India sales. Dzire has garnered a whooping sales figure of 15,000 units per month, a figure much higher than entry-level hatchbacks in India. Maruti Swift Dzire sedan has even outshone its arch rivals Toyota Etios, Tata Manza and Mahindra Verito a couple of times. Given the strength and progression of Maruti from the small car manufacturer image, it is safe to say that the all new Maruti Swift Dzire has been a resounding success for Maruti; and taking cues from its success story Maruti has just hiked the prices of Dzire.
When Maruti introduced the revised version of Swift Dzire, it did not curb the fact that the price was introductory and will go a notch higher as time passes. In lieu of Union Budget this year both the diesel and the petrol version of Maruti Swift Dzire prices were hiked, now Maruti has again hiked the price of Diesel powered Dzire by Rs.8,000-12,000(2-2.5% of the car). The petrol driven Swift Dzire prices would not be hiked given the lackadaisical sales figure of petrol powered vehicles in India. Maruti Suzuki Dzire comes with two engine as well as transmission options. While the five speed manual transmission engine is mandatory, the Dzire petrol variant also comes with 1 4-speed automatic gearbox.
The petrol powered model comes has a 1.2L, 88PS K-series four cylinder engine with VVT. The diesel engine comes from the Italian car maker Fiat, 1.3L Multijet engine that churns out 75 Bhp-190 Nm power and torque figures. Maruti has often used the weapon of introductory prices in the past as a wager to lure maximum booking for their new products who stimulated by a lower introductory price tag, go buy these products. Few months down the line, automakers hike the prices. So, the first on scene have an advantage, especially in the auto Indian market.
